European retail trade volumes, May 2014: Eurostat

In May 2014 compared with April 2014, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade remained stable in the euro area (EA18) and fell by 0.1% in the EU28.
In April retail trade decreased by 0.2% in the euro area and rose by 0.2% in the EU28.
In May 2014 compared with May 2013 the retail sales index increased by 0.7% in the euro area and by 1.2% in the EU28.

In March 2014 compared with February 2014, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade rose by 0.3% in both the euro area (EA18) and the EU28
In February retail trade increased by 0.1% and 0.3% respectively
In March 2014 compared with March 2013 the retail sales index increased by 0.9% in the euro area and by 1.6% in the EU28

In February 2014 compared with January 2014, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade rose by 0.4% in the euro area (EA18) and by 0.5% in the EU28
In January retail trade increased by 1.0% and 0.6% respectively.
In February 2014 compared with February 2013 the retail sales index increased by 0.8% in the euro area and by 1.5% in the EU28.

In December 2013 compared with November 2013, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade fell by 1.6% in the euro area (EA17) and by 0.8% in the EU28
In November retail trade increased by 0.9% and 0.8% respectively
In December 2013 compared with December 2012 the retail sales index decreased by 1.0% in the euro area and rose by 0.1% in the EU28
The average volume of retail trade for the year 2013, compared with 2012, fell by 0.9% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU28

In November 2013 compared with October 2013, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade rose by 1.4% in the euro area (EA17) and by 1.2% in the EU28
In October retail trade decreased by 0.4% and 0.5% respectively
In November 2013 compared with November 2012 the retail sales index increased by 1.6% in the euro area and by 2.0% in the EU28
